Road Trip
Summer Fun
Here's some photos of all the summer happenings that I wrote about in the previous post. Enjoy!
Summer Update
So since the last post (which was ages ago) Andrew and I have been busy doing lots of things. In June we graduated from the University of Oregon. Andrew received his MBA and I received by BS in Psychology and a minor in religious studies. Both of us were so glad to have completed this chapter in our academic careers.
Andrew is starting a PhD program at the University of Oregon this fall. He will be studying management in the business school, with some emphasis on sustainable technologies and entrepreneurship. His interests are centered around organizational strategy, rather than human resource management within an organization.
I am starting a distance learning program through the University of Washington this fall. I will be studying the in's and out's of information and the library system. In about two years I hope to have an MLIS degree under my belt and a career in a school library. While I am in school I am going to be nannying part time. I start my first nanny job in two weeks, and I am very excited!
For graduation both of our families were able to come for a visit. It was so nice to see everyone and share our excitement with them. After the crowd left, Andrew and I went on a road trip through the West. We left from Eugene and headed down through the Red Woods to Yosemite National Park. In the park we backpacked and camped. Yosemite is awe inspiring and the views from every angle are breath taking. After a few days outside we headed into one of Nevada's urban centers- RENO! It was a lot of fun to visit, but probably not somewhere I would like to stay too long. While we were in Reno we also visited Lake Tahoe and one of Andrew's childhood friends. From Reno we drove to Boise to visit my mom and some close friends. We had such a great time. My dad and grandparents were out of town the 4 days we were in Boise and were sorely missed. After Boise we had planned to travel to Crater Lake but when we got there the camping sites were still closed because of the snow. Can you believe they still had snow at the end of June! Needless to say, we were very disappointed that we couldn't stay. So we rolled with the punches and headed back to Eugene a couple of days early, and a good thing we did. The Track and Field Olympic Trials were starting in Eugene and we were able to score tickets for the second day of events. It was an amazing road trip and a fantastic return! I believe we live in one of the most beautiful regions of the world.
Once we got settled back home from our little trip, I had to say bon voyage to Andrew. He headed up to Portland for a summer consulting job at the beginning of July and will return home in the second week in September. It has been really hard without him, but the weekly visits make it possible to stand the distance. We try and rotate weekends, with me going up to visit one weekend and him coming home the next. So far this has worked out pretty well. Only 5.5 weeks left!
Andrew is still working with his business team, TakeShape. They are in negotiations for a license on the scanner and should know within a few weeks if they get it. For those of you who don't know, TakeShape Inc. started out as a business plan and now has materializing into a real endeavor. This group of guys took a body scanner and developed a business plan around it for the health and fitness industries. The scanner would be used to asses body fat and muscle composition. Lets hope that everything turns out great for this team and business!
While Andrew has been gone I have been trying to relax. With only about 15 hours of work a week at the lab, I have had plenty of free time to read, eat, organize the office, tan, read, bake, eat....you know the most important things! I am trying to convert the office into a space that I can work in next year while I am doing this distance program. Hopefully it will be done soon and I will be able to find it completely functional.
Next weekend we are headed up to Bellingham for a few days to visit some friends. One of my good friends is getting married up there too. We are staying with our friends Scott and Sara and their little girl Aliza. It will be great to see them, because it's been way too long. Andrew and I miss Bellingham terribly.
Well that’s about all for now. We would love to hear from you too. Let us know how you are doing and what you have been up to. Love you all!

February!
Andrew is doing well! He has completed his PhD applications and is awaiting a reply. He also has the opportunity to travel a few times in the next few months with his Take Shape Team. They are presenting their business plan in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Hong Kong, just to name a few.
Hannah is almost done with her MA applications. School has been keeping her busy, which is also prolonging her application process a little longer. She has been busy with other things too including kicking off a book drive for Golden Key Honor Society. If you have any books you want to donate let her know! Also she has been volunteering at the Eugene Public Library (ELP) on a regular basis and is enjoying every moment.
Tomorrow is Valentines Day and Andrew plans on making a wonderful dinner and afterwards we hope to watch a romantic movie (Hannah's choice of course!) We hope you are doing well, and would love to hear from you.
Happy Valentines Day!

Midterms and Hawaii
We are both looking forward for this week to be over so that we can enjoy the fun plans ahead of us. The Ducks take on the Trojans this week at home and we are both looking forward to the match up. Andy Raber (Andrew's longtime friend from home) is getting married in November, so Andrew is going to his bachelor party this weekend in Portland. While Andrew is in the city, Hannah will be attending a Halloween party at Emily's house. She is dressing up at a boxer, heavy weight of course!
So, if you haven't been informed already, let us share the exciting news....no not baby, but a trip to HAWAII!! We are going to O'ahu and the Big Island in December for 11 days. We plan on camping most of the time and relaxing on the beach while our stress from school melts away. If you have been there and have any tips let us know, we are novices when it comes to Hawaii. Aloha!

A lot has happened...
Yes, it has been a while since we have updated folks. Sorry about that, but school and football season started :)
School started September 24th and Andrew returned from
As far as events go, Hannah celebrated her 23rd birthday in
Hannah and Andrew at the Fiesta!
Emily, Hannah, and Zoe
Ducks and Seahawks football has been consuming out Saturdays and Sundays. The games have been fun and tailgating even better! Last week we got a phone call from Andrew's mom and she mentioned that her and Dave (Andrew's stepfather) wanted to come down for a game soon. Andrew was able to get six reserved tickets to the sold out homecoming game and Cathy, Dave, Becky (Andrew's sister), and Emma (Becky's friend) came down for the weekend. It was great to have them here to enjoy the beautiful fall we are experiencing and the football game too.
Like mentioned above the fall here is just wonderful! Here are some photos of campus and our neighborhood with all the changing colors. Hope you are doing well! Please keep in touch!
